All faculty and staff who choose the Harvard University Group Health Plan (HUGHP) are eligible to select a Harvard University Health Services (HUHS) primary care physician and take advantage of HUHS services, including 24-hour urgent care at HUHS in Holyoke Center (Harvard Square).
Services Available to All Faculty/Staff
The following services are available on a fee-for-service basis to all faculty and staff with a valid Harvard ID; payment options include payroll deduction for all services below.
Urgent Care
HUHS provides urgent care 24 hours a day, every day. All Harvard employees may seek care at HUHS for urgent medical issues that arise while at work, as long as the onset of the illness or injury occurred within the previous 24 hours.
Harvard benefits-eligible employees who do not have a HUHS primary care physician will be responsible for a discounted $25 visit charge, due at the time of service. Employees who are not benefits eligible will be required to pay full charges for HUHS services. Services provided by HUHS’ Quest laboratory will be billed to the employee’s insurance. After urgent care treatment, patients will be directed to their PCP for follow-up services.
If you are injured at work and seek medical assistance at HUHS, you should follow the Workers’ Compensation procedures established by the University.
Dental Services
HUHS Dental Services offers a full range of dental services for patients from six months of age through the life span. If you participate in the Harvard Delta Dental plan (Delta Preferred Option Plus), the clinic will bill your insurance.
Optical Shop
Our registered dispensing opticians have over 60 years of experience, offering you attentive, expert service.
Pharmacy Services
The HUHS Pharmacy has an extensive selection of over-the-counter medications and products, with access to thousands more at your request. The Pharmacy also offers biweekly specials, monthly discount packages, and regular store-wide sales.
Wellness Programs
The Center for Wellness offers innovative programs that range from complementary therapies, such as acupuncture and massage, to new exercises to improve health and fitness.
